Hands On Shanghai — Volunteer Performances at Hospitals
Hands On Shanghai is a youth-led charity organization. I have participated on multiple occasions, mainly performing for patients and their families in hospitals. I have performed at both children's hospitals and maternity hospitals, and I am currently the only high school student among the organization's performers.
During these performances, patients and family members often stop to listen, applaud after a piece, or even come out of their hospital rooms to watch.
Charity Concerts for the Visually Impaired
I helped organize three charity concerts in collaboration with the Tianlin Community Service Center in Shanghai for visually impaired audiences. Student performers came from more than five high schools across Shanghai, including both bands and school ensembles, and the concerts reached more than 400 audience members in total.
Beyond performing, we designed interactive activities that allowed visually impaired participants to experience music in different ways—for example, introducing different instruments and inviting them to identify instruments through sound alone.
SoundUtopia Music Festival
SoundUtopia is a public-welfare music festival that has been held since 2024. I authored the strategic plan and directed the 2026 festival, themed “Music, Tech & Dance.” We worked with more than 40 students from over 25 schools, bringing together music, technology, and accessibility. In partnership with the Pudong Federation of Disabled Persons, we invited visually and hearing-impaired participants to interactive music-technology workshops. I also recruited high school bands, communicated with performers, and coordinated rehearsal logistics.
I helped build the festival's social media presence across Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Bilibili, and Instagram, including editing and publishing performance highlights. The festival attracted more than 400 visitors and raised over RMB 30,000 in donations.
